Jakarta (ANTARA) – Sejumlah tim Free Fire menyambut positif format baru yang diperkenalkan Free Fire World Series (FFWS) Indonesia 2024 Spring dengan menggelar Knockout Stage atau fase liga reguler secara online.Menurut pelatih RRQ Kazu Adi Gustiawan, perubahan format merupakan hal yang lumrah di Free Fire karena seringnya pengembang dan penerbit game mengubah peraturan dan ketentuan dalam turnamen, yang tentunya mengharuskan pemain untuk selalu adaptif.
“Fase regular kita bermain online sangat berbeda. Tapi dengan format ini, tim-tim yang baru bergabung di FFWS lebih bisa beradaptasi karena sebelumnya bermain online,” kata Adi dalam temu media jelang FFWS ID 2024 Spring di Garena Kantor Indonesia, Jakarta, Selasa.

Menurut Adi, perubahan format turnamen ini bisa dimanfaatkan oleh tim-tim baru untuk memetakan kekuatan tim lawan, sekaligus menghindari kemungkinan demam panggung yang akan dialami oleh tim komunitas yang baru bergabung di skena esports profesional.
“Mereka harus bisa beradaptasi dulu dengan tim lawan, baru bisa beradaptasi dengan stage, makanya musim lalu komunitasnya under table,” kata Adi yang mengelola tim profesional.
Meski perubahan format ini menguntungkan tim lawan, Adi justru menilai hal itu baik untuk membangun suasana kompetitif di turnamen.
Perubahan format ini juga disambut baik oleh Kraken Esports yang menjadi juara Free Fire Nusantara Series (FFNS) #2 jalur kualifikasi menuju FFWS ID 2024 Spring.
