Alter Ego Esports menjadi salah satu tim yang gagal lolos ke babak Playoff MPL Indonesia Season 12. Salah satu pemain baru yaitu Gustian Rekt yang kembali dari rehat panjang setelah bermain untuk Tim EVOS Legends menjadi salah satu transfer yang cukup mengejutkan. Gustian REKT yang pernah membawa tim lamanya EVOS Legends menjadi Juara Dunia di M1 World Championship masih belum mampu membawa Alter Ego Esports mengunci babak playoff.

Sebelum bergabung dengan Alter Ego Esports, Gustian REKT sempat rehat selama beberapa musim terakhir. Ia yang sebelumnya membela tim EVOS Legends dikenal sebagai roamer yang menakutkan bagi pemain tim lawan.

Namun pada akhirnya ia memutuskan untuk kembali ke pro scene MPL Indonesia karena semangat bersaingnya masih sangat membara. Ia kembali namun dengan seragam Alter Ego berwarna merah, bukan tim biru EVOS Legends.
