Jakarta (ANTARA) – Direktur SMK Direktorat Jenderal Pendidikan Vokasi Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Republik Indonesia Wardani Sugiyanto menilai banyak peluang yang bisa dibuka bagi talenta-talenta di industri esports dalam negeri, baik sebagai atlet dan unsur pendukung lainnya seperti animator dan pengembang game.“Kami di Kemendikbud mendukung esports karena seperti olahraga lainnya, esports juga membutuhkan ketahanan fisik. Selain itu, ada nilai-nilai yang juga diperlukan seperti kerja sama dan kolaborasi, kata Wardani dalam acara diskusi “Esports Next” jelang Piala Presiden Esports 2023 di Bogor, Jumat.
“Selain itu, ini adalah olahraga generasi baru yang sebenarnya sangat digemari oleh anak muda dan benar-benar bisa menjadi sebuah industri. Dan di sini ada peluang bagi anak muda untuk terjun di industri esports itu sendiri, seperti di acara-acara. (turnamen),” tambahnya.
Di sisi lain, Sekretaris Jenderal Piala Presiden Esports 2023 Agung Rusmana melanjutkan, digelarnya turnamen esports dalam negeri juga sejalan dengan membuka lebih banyak kesempatan bagi generasi muda yang memiliki ketertarikan terhadap game dan proses produksi di baliknya.
“Sampai saat ini banyak yang mempertanyakan apakah keputusan mendukung (ekosistem atau industri) esports itu bijaksana dan terbukti ada potensinya, sudah tidak niche lagi, dan ini menjadi titik terang untuk tampil lebih besar lagi kedepannya. , bahwa masih banyak pintu lain yang harus dibuka,” kata Agung.
