Jakarta (ANTARA) – Tim esports bola basket nasional Indonesia akan meramaikan kompetisi NBA 2K League Invitational APAC di Filipina yang digelar pada 17-18 November.Sekretaris Jenderal Persatuan Bola Basket Seluruh Indonesia (Perbasi) Nirmala Dewi dalam keterangan tertulisnya di Jakarta, Kamis, mengatakan timnas esports basket Indonesia harus bisa memanfaatkan setiap kejuaraan yang diikutinya.
Ia yakin setiap ajang bisa menjadi ajang latihan para pemain untuk meningkatkan kualitasnya menjadi lebih baik.
“Kompetisi penting untuk meningkatkan pengalaman atlet. “Semakin banyak kejuaraan yang kita ikuti, maka jam terbang atlet akan semakin meningkat dan mental mereka semakin terbentuk,” kata Nirmala.
Sebelumnya timnas esports basket Indonesia berlaga di eFIBA Season 2 Regional Asia. Di ajang ini, Pasukan Merah Putih finis sebagai runner up Asia.
“PP Perbasi mendukung penuh setiap kejuaraan yang diikuti tim esports basket nasional Indonesia demi prestasi yang lebih baik lagi ke depan,” lanjut Sekjen perempuan pertama Perbasi ini.
Manajer timnas esports basket Indonesia, Pasha Marta Putra menjelaskan, pemain yang dikirim ke Filipina memiliki komposisi yang sama dengan tim yang berprestasi di eFIBA awal November lalu.
Pemainnya adalah Ren Lukas Hasiholan Tambunan (PG), Davin Sean Oliver (SF), Muhammad Ikram Setiadi (SG), Dewantara Ersaputra (PF), dan Nicko Laus Tangar (tengah). Namun di ajang kali ini mereka mengusung nama Aegis Indonesia Patriots.
“Ini merupakan kejuaraan sebagai kualifikasi untuk mengikuti liga tertinggi dunia esports basket internasional yang diselenggarakan langsung oleh NBA. “Pesertanya juga terbatas,” jelas Pasha.
