Hal senada diungkapkan Ivan Chen, CEO Anantarupa Studio yang merupakan pengembang game lokal Lokapala. Menurut Ivan, pengembang game lokal sangat berterima kasih kepada LPDUK Kemenpora yang telah memperkenalkan game esports lokal melalui Pepernas.
“Kami sangat berterima kasih kepada LPDUK Kemenpora yang telah mendukung program pengenalan berbagai permainan lokal kami kepada masyarakat. Saya berharap program ini dapat terus berlanjut dan dapat dimanfaatkan serta dimanfaatkan dengan sebaik-baiknya,” ujar CEO Anantarupa Studio, pengembang game lokal. Lokapala Ivan Chen.
Menurutnya, platform dan dukungan yang diberikan LPDUK dan Kemenpora untuk mendukung pengembangan permainan lokal dapat mendorong pertumbuhan ekonomi baru (ekonomi kreatif) di Indonesia.
“Permainan itu sangat luas, tidak semua permainan itu sama. Mungkin pelajar atau mahasiswa yang baru belajar bisa membuat game namun nilai jualnya berbeda. Jadi, game yang memiliki skor tinggi ada di aplikasi Play Store di 10 daftar pertama. Dan itu dibuat dari anggaran 100 miliar hingga satu setengah triliun, jadi sangat besar, menjadi tantangan tersendiri bagi pengembang game di Indonesia karena saat ini akses pembiayaan belum ada atau belum ada sama sekali, jelas Ivan.
Ivan mencontohkan, di luar negeri Grand Theft Auto 4 diproduksi sekitar 4,5 triliun dan break even point-nya hanya sekitar 8 jam. “Sekarang kalau dilihat pendapatan Grand Theft Auto dari satu game sekitar 120 triliun, jadi ini bisa menjadi sumber pertumbuhan ekonomi baru di Indonesia,” tegas Ivan.
