Jakarta (ANTARA) – Pelatih Tim Persija Esports Mobile Legends: Bang-Bang (MLBB) Kris Lionheart meyakini kehadiran turnamen komunitas bisa menjadi wadah munculnya talenta-talenta esports baru yang bisa dikembangkan menjadi pemain profesional.“Adanya turnamen komunitas itu bagus karena komunitas esports di Indonesia sangat kuat. Misalnya saja pasaran MLBB yang ada di Indonesia. Jadi kita harus bisa menjadi sebuah negara adikuasa Mobile Legends dengan populasi dan pasarnya yang besar. Dari panggung publik (adegan publik) harus diperkuat lagi,” kata Kris kepada ANTARA, saat ditemui di Jakarta, Kamis.

Cabang esports di Indonesia bisa dibilang cukup unik, banyak masyarakat awam yang suka bermain bersama di berbagai tempat seperti warung internet dan tempat umum lainnya.

Menurut Kris, dengan adanya platform seperti turnamen komunitas dan akademi yang memiliki struktur dan program yang tepat, besar harapan untuk melahirkan lebih banyak talenta yang bisa memperkuat tim esports Indonesia di berbagai turnamen bergengsi dunia.

“Peran pemerintah dan swasta akan berdampak pada kemajuan masyarakat. Jadi, ada peran semua orang dengan harapan ekosistem esports mulai dari masyarakat hingga profesional bisa lebih maju dan komprehensif, kata Kris.

Kris juga menilai masih ada “penghalang” antara publik dan dunia profesional. Padahal, menurutnya, seorang pemain amatir bisa naik ke kelas profesional jika memiliki bakat dan kualitas kerja sama tim yang baik.

“Dari sini ada peran pelatih yang akan memoles bakat tersebut. “Secara mekanis pemain (amatir) ini sudah bagus, pelatih tidak mungkin mengajarkan itu lagi, pelatih tinggal mengarahkan strateginya agar performanya maksimal,” jelasnya.
